D.D. Williamson announces new Caramelized Apple Color

11 July 2003

D.D. Williamson has developed a caramelized apple product from 100% apple juice concentrate. Food and beverage processors using the D.D. Williamson caramelized apple product may label it as “100% Apple” on the ingredients statement. D.D. Williamson will display its caramelized apple product in Booth #4018 at the Institute of Food Technologists’ Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Chicago, July 13-16, 2003.

“Our caramelized apple juice concentrate product contributes a flavor to beverage and food products, but its primary use is in adjusting or adding color to drinks, flavors, jellies and yogurts. It provides a clear, clean apple juice color,” said Owen Parker, vice president for research and development at D.D. Williamson. “We developed this product in response to our clients’ need for clean labeling as 100% Apple.”
